Who this covers
Ambience Maker is an iOS app made by me, Swapnil Sawant. This page covers everything the app sends anywhere. The app has no account and no sign-in, shows no ads, and contains no third-party analytics or advertising code.
What stays on your phone
Your mixes, the sound options you pick, the scenes you save, your last scene and the scene ideas you have sent are stored only on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
What the app sends
To learn which scenes people enjoy, the app sends short usage events to a server I run:
- A random ID created when the app is first opened. It is not tied to your name, email, Apple ID or device identifiers.
- Which scene you play and for how long, scenes you save, sound options you switch, and sleep-timer use.
- How long a scene took to start playing, and a short error code if a scene fails to download or play. These never contain anything you typed.
- The app version.
- The text of any scene idea you send from the Request tab. Please don't include personal details in it. Scene ideas are kept for up to 365 days, then deleted.
Like any website, the server's logs record the IP address of each request. Those logs are used only to keep the service running, are not joined with the usage events, and are deleted after 14 days.
This data is not used to identify you, not used for advertising, not shared with or sold to anyone, and not used to track you across other apps or websites.
Where it is stored
Usage events are stored on servers I operate (analytics.swapp1990.org). Scene ideas are stored separately on a server I operate (swapp1990.org), with the random ID and app version but without your IP address. Connections are encrypted with HTTPS.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything on your phone and its random ID, so new events can't be linked to the old ones. To have the events already sent removed, email swapp19902@gmail.com with the approximate date you used the app and the scene ideas you sent, and I will delete the matching records.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If a future version adds accounts or purchases, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
